My Jindo’s feral nature and wolf-like behavior is one of the things I love best about him. The nature of the beast is so pure and whole–nothing has been bred out of him. He is quietly respectful and obedient, yet he thinks for himself in ways that I never realized a dog could. When I get to see him run, next to me and my horse in the woods, I feel this longing to be a part of a past civilization whose natural order guided every decision made. He scales sheer cliffs, takes chances running straight down them, balances on logs, nose to the ground, and all the while, knows exactly where my horse and I are, whether in front of or behind him. He owns the land he travels on when he is free to do as he wishes–and nothing pleases me more than to witness his primitive nature. This is one time I feel truly content and the world somehow makes sense to me.
-Sherri Harvey, Jindo Owner

*Note: We do not recommend allowing a Jindo off leash in urban and suburban environments. Even in remote locations, a Jindo’s prey drive may take over and the Jindo may run off never to be seen again.
